ANKENY CENTENNIAL BOYS TRACK & FIELD CAMP

The 6/7 Boys Track & Field Camp is designed to teach the fundamentals of each event in Track & Field. The emphasis will be on providing fun-filled learning. Camp will provide skills and techniques that will help you improve as an athlete both on and off the track. Limited to the first 50 campers.

PRAIRIE RIDGE MIDDLE SCHOOL GIRLS TRACK & FIELD CAMP

This is a Track & Field Camp that will introduce 6th and 7th grade girls attending Prairie Ridge Middle School to the sport of track and field. It will be led by long time Ankeny Track coaches, and current 8th grade girls cross country coaches, Kyle Benna and Tim Long. The girls will be introduced to several events in track & field. They will learn about: shot put, broad jump (long jump), starts, sprinting, hurdles, pacing. Cost for all eight days of the camp wil be $60 and participants will receive at-shirt for registering for the camp by the deadline. The registration deadline to receive a t-shirt: April 11th, 2014. Registrations received after April 11th but before April 21st WILL NOT receive a t-shirt.

DISTRICT FUTURE STARS ELEMENTARY CAMP

For kids entering 2nd-4th grades anywhere in the Ankeny District, our camp is a fast-paced introduction to track and field events. Campers will receive a t-shirt and our last day will be a “meet” for kids to show what they’ve learned about running and field events.**In case of heavy rain or lightning, that day’s camp will be cancelled.

These camps are run as fund raisers for our programs. The majority of money spent goes to registration costs, shirts, insurance and our fundraising accounts, not to coaches.

DISTRICT ON THE RISE MIDDLE SCHOOL CAMP

For athletes entering 5th-8th grades anywhere in the Ankeny district. Focus will be exposure to springs, distance, hurdles, jumping and throwing events with technical instruction in each event and our last day will feature a track meet. For athletes interested in pursuing USATF and/or AAU state, regional and national summer competitions, this camp will provide a great foundation of training to prepare the athlete. Handouts regarding these extra (outside-of-camp) competitions will be distributed the first day, or found at www.jaguargirlstf.net. **In case of heavy rain or lightning, that day’s camp will be cancelled.

ANKENY 4TH - 8TH TRACK & FIELD CAMP

Track Coach Steve Arneson and his staff will be offering summer track camps for boys and girls entering grades 4-8 this fall. These camps will provide customized instruction for all ability levels. Participants will have an opportunity to try various events. Everyone will receive a camp t-shirt. In the event of light rain, we will still meet.  However, should the rain be heavy or accompanied by lightning, we will not meet.
