SUMMER BAND CAMP

Parkview Middle School Band Directors Rich Thimmesch and John Gosnell will be offering a summer band camp for boys and girls entering grades 6-8. Students will meet for two hours daily. A variety of activities will include full band rehearsals, sectional rehearsals, warm-up routines, and other instruction. A concert will be presented at the Ankeny Bandshell at 11:00 am on Friday, June 27th.

SUMMER JAZZ BAND CAMP

Ankeny High School Jazz Instructor Joel Poppen will be directing a summer jazz camp for band students entering grades 8-10. The camp will focus on the fundamentals of playing in a jazz big band. This will be a wonderful opportunity for young musicians to experience the art of jazz in a large group setting. Previous jazz band experience is not required. Each participant will receive a camp t-shirt, if registered by June 23rd.
